Join Our Friendly Dance Classes
At Fiona Watt School of Dancing we believe in making dancing fun! Children love to dance. It’s energetic, lively and a great form of exercise. It can really improve your child’s fitness and coordination and is a great way of making new friends.
Come along and learn Tap, Modern, Jazz, Cheer and Hip-Hop.
Whether your child just wants to have fun or sit exams our school provides the opportunity to reach goals in a safe, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Recent research has also highlighted that dancing contributes to physical and emotional well being. It helps to improve confidence and self esteem.
Where Are Our Classes?
Our classes are held on Saturdays at St Joseph’s Academy, Grassyards Road Kilmarnock.
Why Dance Classes?
Dancing is fun and all pupils are encouraged to learn dance steps while developing a sense of rhythm. Dancing helps to develop confidence and the friendly nature of classes helps our pupils learn in a relaxed atmosphere.
What Do Pupils Learn?
Tap – Modern – Jazz – Hip Hop – Cheer
All pupils are encouraged to sit dancing exams as it allows them to develop their dancing skills progressively and gives a great sense of achievement!
On passing an exam pupils receive a certificate and medal from the British Association of Teachers of Dancing (BATD).
Exams are as non-threatening as possible and pupils are not entered for an exam unless they are performing to an acceptable standard in class.
Pupils are not obliged to sit dancing exams and may continue to enjoy dancing in their class. Please let me know if your child does not wish to sit an exam.
